A Concordance to the Hungarian Bible by Michael Kőrösi

AbsztraktThe New Testament part of the Biblical Concordance by dean of the Debrecen tractus (classis) Michael Kőrösi was first published in 1739. The second corrected edition appeared in 1773. Based on his manuscript the work’s Old Testament part was prepared for the press by Stephan Boros in 1786. Another independent edition of the same manuscript has been produced by the preacher of the Győr congregation Stephan Szerencsi Nagy. He also enlarged the second edition (1773) of the New Testament part entitled Magyar Concordántzia [Hungarian Concordance]. After his death this work was finished by Timothy Szentmiklósi in 1789. The present research detected and corrected earlier data. So the extreme personalities as well as difficulties in the process of editing those days are presented along with the influence of coccejanism, i. e. the school of Johannes Koch (Coccejus) the 17th century dutch theologian.
